Portfolio Redesign

I just revamped my portfolio (again).

Let me take you through my (thought)process of transforming my old portfolio into a sleek and minimalistic (selfproclaimed) masterpiece using SvelteKit and Tailwind.

Why the Change?

Like many of us, I felt the sudden urge to revamp my portfolio for the nth time this year.

My old design had served me well, but I just felt like changing it up again into something more modern and clean.

Simplicity was key, I just wanted something that would showcase my work without overwhelming the visitor.

The strategy

To achieve the above i chose to finally use SvelteKit in combination with tailwind, it would allow me to work very fast and most important it's fun to work with.

I've been playing around with it here and there but suddenly decided to make something real with it. One weekend later and my new portfolio was live.

I also tried something new with this setup, using a json based text file for a database alternative. It contains no sensitive data so i thought it would be fun to play with.

Design Philosophy

My design philosophy for this portfolio iteration was all about simplicity and focus, show what needs to be shown.

I wanted to keep it simple, no special bells and whistles, just a clean interface which is easy to navigate.

The same goes for many of the features on this portfolio, the color scheme for example is just black and white with an accent color here and there to make certain elements pop.
